Anemina arcaeformis – Greenish-Brown Freshwater Mollusk from Fujian, China

This specimen originates from Fujian Province, China, and is a relatively widely distributed species. The shell is ovate in outline with a distinct angular shoulder. The anterior end is somewhat rounded, while the posterior end is truncate. The ventral margin is evenly arched. Three strong, radially oriented ribs extend from the umbo across the posterior segment of the shell. The shell surface is a greenish-brown colour, making it a unique specimen for collectors and researchers alike.
